My Summer Experiences
This summer was probably one of the most exciting summers of my life. I took a trip to my hometown, California. My whole family and I decided to take a one week trip to San Jose, California and meet all of our friends and family. We flew to California and visited many places including, The Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39, The Crooked Street, Fisherman's Wharf, Beaches, the hospital I was born in, and many other places. My trip was amazing and I really enjoyed the experience of going back and remembering little details about my friends, our church, my old houses, and much more. I also had a summer job in Atlanta almost half the summer. I babysat a couple of kids in my neighbourhood. I got paid seven to ten dollars an hour depending on the age of the kids and how long I took care of them. I enjoyed playing with all the kids and loved keeping them busy. Some of the activities that I did with the kids were coloring, painting, playing outside, watching TV, playing board games, and reading. This job helped me earn some extra money and I had a great time being around kids. One of my hobbies during this Summer was running. My friends and I would get up at 6-7 AM almost every morning and meet up at school to run with our Cross Country Team. We had many adventures during our runs and made up many trails and paths for our "free run" days. Some of our adventures included, Truth and Dare runs, Secret Paths, and Tag. We did all these activities while running. My other really big change this summer was moving to Oklahoma. I lived in Atlanta, Georgia for seven years and then my mom decided that moving near her family was best. So we packed up our house and moved to Oklahoma City. It was really difficult leaving all my friends and school behind to come to some random place like Oklahoma. Luckily, I already had a bunch of friends in church because I used to fly to Oklahoma to visit my cousins almost every summer. Right now though, I am enjoying Oklahoma. Everything is going well and I am glad that I moved here.

I am glad to have you in class, Sehrish. Your adventurous summer is ripe with experiences that you can write about during our narrative writing unit. Moving to a new place is difficult, but I'm glad to hear you already have some friends in Oklahoma. :)
ReplyDeleteThank You. I am glad that I am in your class! It is difficult, but I am glad that this move wasn't that hard for me.
